Adding your onboard video to Race Replay
Add your YouTube onboard and synchronize the race start. Racer IQ can then play your onboard at the matching moment in Race Replay.
Add it
- Open the private Race Replay and tap Add my onboard.
- Choose your car, then paste your YouTube link (youtube.com or youtu.be). If your Race Log session for that day already has a video, tap Use this video for Race Replay.
- Only add an onboard for your own participation.
How synchronization works
- Move the video to the moment the race starts and tap Set race start here — or type the time, e.g. 08:22.
- Use −5 / −1 / +1 / +5 s to fine-tune and Preview sync to check a later moment.
- Video time = race time + your race-start point. Within about a second is normal — it isn't frame-perfect.
Watching
- Drivers with onboard show 🎥. Select one to watch their onboard at the same race moment; switching drivers never restarts the race.
- The replay clock is in charge: Play, Pause, seeking, Jump to lap and Share from here all move the video too. Seeking inside the YouTube player snaps back to the replay time.
- YouTube plays up to 2×. At 4× and 8× the onboard pauses and resumes at 2× or slower.
- The onboard starts muted — unmute in the player.
Private and public
- Off by default: only people who can see the private replay.
- Tick Allow this onboard in the public Race Replay to show it on the public link. A public YouTube video isn't public in Racer IQ unless you tick this.
- Organisers see how many drivers have onboard but can't change or publish yours.
- Remove video unlinks it from the replay — nothing changes on YouTube.
Why a video may be unavailable
- The video is private, removed, or embedding is turned off in YouTube Studio (Allow embedding must be on). Unlisted videos work.
- The race time is before your recording starts or after it ends.
- Whatever happens to the video, the replay keeps playing.
