Racer IQ

Privacy Policy

Version 1.4 · Effective 8 October 2026

1. ABOUT THIS PRIVACY POLICY

Racer IQ is an Australian motorsport platform designed to help racers organise their vehicles, race history, lap data, setups and telemetry; participate in motorsport communities and Race Series; use race analysis and AI-assisted features; share selected racing information; and use features such as Race Replay and the Racer IQ Marketplace.

This Privacy Policy explains how Racer IQ collects, uses, stores, shares and protects personal information when you use Racer IQ.

Racer IQ is based in Queensland, Australia.

Privacy enquiries:
privacy@raceriq.com.au

Support:
support@raceriq.com.au

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

The information Racer IQ collects depends on the features you use.

ACCOUNT AND PROFILE INFORMATION

This may include your name, email address, username, profile information, account preferences and information required to operate and secure your account.

MOTORSPORT AND VEHICLE INFORMATION

This may include your race number, vehicle details, modifications, racing category or class, Race Series participation and information you add to your Garage.

RACE INFORMATION

This may include events, sessions, lap times, results, personal bests, setup information, notes and other racing records.

TELEMETRY AND GPS INFORMATION

When you import supported telemetry, Racer IQ may process lap, speed, position, GPS and related motorsport information.

Raw telemetry files used by the current telemetry importer are processed on your device and are not stored by Racer IQ unless a feature specifically tells you otherwise.

PHOTOS AND FILES

This may include Garage and vehicle photos and other files you choose to upload.

RACE REPLAY INFORMATION

This may include timing information, processed GPS information that you choose to contribute and information required to associate race data with a Replay.

ONBOARD VIDEO INFORMATION

This may include YouTube video links or IDs and synchronization information.

Racer IQ does not host the YouTube video itself.

RACE SERIES AND COMMUNITY INFORMATION

This may include Race Series, seasons, rounds, events, teams, memberships, follows and contributions.

MARKETPLACE INFORMATION

This may include listings, vehicle details, photos, approximate location, seller-selected contact details and messages between Marketplace users.

SPONSOR AND BUSINESS PROFILE INFORMATION

Racer IQ allows racers, teams, Race Series organisers and other authorised users to create Sponsor profiles and associate Sponsors with racers, vehicles, teams and Race Series.

Sponsor profile information may include a business or organisation name, logo, description, website, social media links and contact information that is chosen for publication.

If you ask to claim or manage a Sponsor profile, we may also collect information such as your name, role or relationship to the business or organisation, business email address, website, Australian Business Number (ABN) or other business identifier where provided, and information or evidence you choose to provide to demonstrate that you are authorised to represent the Sponsor.

We may also keep information about Sponsor claim requests, their status, administrative review and decisions, Sponsor owners and managers, and changes to the management of a Sponsor profile.

TRACK INFORMATION

This may include Track Requests, votes and Personal Tracks you create.

SUPPORT INFORMATION

This may include messages sent through Contact & Support and limited technical context such as the relevant page, device type and time when you report a technical problem.

AI-RELATED INFORMATION

This may include information relevant to a question you ask the Race Engineer or a request you make to the Racer IQ Assistant.

Racer IQ's AI usage log records usage information about AI requests but does not store the text of your question or the AI response in that usage log.

Race Engineer conversations may separately form part of your Racer IQ account data.

MEMBERSHIP, BILLING AND PAYMENT INFORMATION

If you choose a paid plan, Racer IQ receives and stores information needed to operate your membership, including your plan, monthly or annual billing period, subscription status, billing period dates, renewal and cancellation status, failed-payment status, and the customer, subscription and price identifiers issued by our payment processor.

Racer IQ also keeps records of trials, access codes, promotions, complimentary access and administrative grants applied to your account.

Card and payment details are entered directly with Stripe, our payment processor. Racer IQ does not receive or store your full card number or card security code (CVC). Stripe may make limited payment details available to you through Manage billing, such as the card type and last four digits.

Stripe holds billing and transaction records, such as payment amounts, dates, receipts, refunds and disputes, and Racer IQ may access those records to administer payments.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Racer IQ may process technical information reasonably required to operate, secure and troubleshoot the service.

3. HOW WE COLLECT INFORMATION

We generally collect information directly from you when you:

  • create an account;
  • update your profile;
  • add a vehicle;
  • upload information or photos;
  • create racing records;
  • import race information;
  • participate in Race Series, Teams or Events;
  • use Race Replay;
  • use the Marketplace;
  • use AI-assisted features;
  • submit a Track Request;
  • subscribe to or manage a paid plan; or
  • contact Racer IQ.

We also receive subscription and payment status information from our payment processor when you subscribe to, change, renew or cancel a paid plan.

Information may also be provided by Race Series organisers or contained in legitimate motorsport timing and results.

This means a competitor's name, race number, vehicle and race result may appear in event results or Race Replay even if that competitor does not have a Racer IQ account.

Appearing in a race result does not mean that person has joined Racer IQ or has a Racer IQ member profile.

4. HOW WE USE INFORMATION

Racer IQ may use information to:

  • provide and operate Racer IQ;
  • maintain your account, Garage and Race Log;
  • process and analyse race and telemetry information;
  • calculate and display racing information and personal bests;
  • provide Race Engineer and other AI-assisted functionality;
  • operate Race Series, Teams, Events and Race Replay;
  • provide public profiles and vehicle pages when you choose to publish them;
  • operate the Marketplace;
  • process Track Requests and support enquiries;
  • provide membership plans, process payments and renewals, manage subscriptions, failed payments, refunds and disputes, and keep financial records;
  • detect and prevent payment fraud and misuse;
  • protect Racer IQ and its users;
  • investigate reports and moderate content;
  • enforce the Terms of Use and Community Guidelines;
  • maintain legitimate shared motorsport history;
  • improve, troubleshoot and develop Racer IQ; and
  • comply with applicable legal requirements.

SPONSOR PROFILES AND CLAIMS

We may use Sponsor and claimant information to create and maintain Sponsor profiles, assess requests to claim a Sponsor profile, determine whether a person appears authorised to manage that profile, administer Sponsor owners and managers, manage sponsorship relationships, investigate disputed or inaccurate sponsorship information, prevent impersonation or misuse, and maintain records of claim and moderation decisions.

Information such as matching between a business email domain and a Sponsor website may be used as one factor when reviewing a claim. A domain match does not automatically approve a claim.

5. INFORMATION YOU CHOOSE TO MAKE PUBLIC

Racer IQ provides controls over several kinds of public information.

Information is not automatically public simply because it exists in your private Racer IQ account.

Depending on the feature, you may choose to publish information such as:

  • your driver or rider profile;
  • selected vehicle information;
  • selected vehicle photos;
  • modifications;
  • personal bests;
  • Marketplace listings;
  • Race Series information;
  • processed GPS contributions to Race Replay; and
  • onboard-video associations.

Private Garage photos are not automatically made public.

You select which eligible photos appear on a public vehicle page.

Personal Tracks are private and are not publicly searchable.

Where Racer IQ separately asks whether GPS information or an onboard-video association may be public, that choice controls publication of that information through Racer IQ.

SPONSOR INFORMATION

Information deliberately published on a Sponsor profile, such as the Sponsor's name, logo, description, website, social links and public contact information, may be visible publicly.

Public sponsorship relationships may also show that a Sponsor is associated with a racer, vehicle, team or Race Series. Where a Sponsor representative has confirmed a relationship through Racer IQ, the relationship may be shown as confirmed.

Private sponsorship relationships are not displayed publicly and are not made visible to a Sponsor merely because that Sponsor profile has been claimed.

A Sponsor profile marked as Claimed means Racer IQ has approved a person's ability to manage that Sponsor profile. It does not mean Racer IQ endorses, certifies, recommends or guarantees the Sponsor, its products or services, or every sponsorship relationship associated with it.

6. RACE RESULTS AND SHARED MOTORSPORT HISTORY

Motorsport timing and results may form part of a shared historical record.

Race Series organisers may add legitimate timing and results containing a competitor's name, race number, vehicle, class and racing performance even where that competitor does not have a Racer IQ account.

Racer IQ treats these records separately from member profiles.

If a member later deletes their Racer IQ account, legitimate shared race results may remain as part of the event's historical record without remaining linked to an active Racer IQ member account.

7. TELEMETRY AND GPS

Telemetry and GPS can contain detailed information about a vehicle's movement on track.

Racer IQ therefore provides additional controls around their use.

Importing telemetry does not automatically make private GPS information public.

Private or pending Race Replay GPS contributions are removed when the associated account is deleted.

If you deliberately approve processed GPS information for public Race Replay use, that contribution may remain as part of the historical Replay after account deletion.

If retained, it will no longer be linked to your Racer IQ account and may be shown as belonging to an unclaimed competitor.

Voluntary track-map contributions. Where a shared circuit layout does not yet have a verified map, Racer IQ may ask whether you would like to contribute GPS from a session to help map it. Nothing is shared unless you choose to contribute. A contribution contains only simplified GPS paths of up to 10 clean laps. It does not include lap times, speeds, braking or other performance data, session dates, your name or your original file. Racer IQ administrators review contributions for track mapping without seeing who contributed them, and your original telemetry remains private.

You can withdraw a contribution until it has been used in an approved shared track map. Once used, it cannot be removed from the published map. Once approved, the resulting track map may be made available to other Racer IQ members and visitors. Unused contributions are deleted if you delete your account; used contributions are kept but no longer linked to your account.

8. AI AND RACE ENGINEER

Racer IQ uses AI-assisted functionality, including the Race Engineer, the Racer IQ Assistant and website-assisted Race Series importing.

For Race Engineer requests, Racer IQ selects information relevant to your question rather than sending your entire Racer IQ account or database.

Depending on the question, this may include relevant vehicle, race, setup, lap or telemetry-derived information together with recent conversation context.

The Race Engineer currently receives your question, relevant selected records and up to the last 10 messages required for conversational context.

The Race Series website importer may send text retrieved from public webpages for structured analysis.

RACER IQ ASSISTANT

Racer IQ may provide an AI-powered Assistant that helps members find information, navigate Racer IQ and prepare or carry out actions within their account.

When you use the Racer IQ Assistant, information sent for AI processing may include:

  • your question or instruction;
  • up to the 10 most recent messages in your current Assistant conversation;
  • the Racer IQ page or feature you are currently using; and
  • relevant Racer IQ records retrieved to answer your question or carry out your request.

Racer IQ aims to send only information relevant to the request.

RECENT ASSISTANT CHAT

Racer IQ does not store the content of your Assistant conversations in its own database.

Recent Assistant chat may be stored locally on your device to maintain conversation context and is separated by member account. This locally stored chat is cleared when you sign out.

Information sent for AI processing may be processed or temporarily retained by Racer IQ's AI service providers in accordance with their applicable data handling practices, as described below.

ASSISTANT ACTIVITY

Racer IQ keeps an Assistant Activity record when the Assistant prepares or performs actions within your account. This may include:

  • the action performed or attempted;
  • what Racer IQ record or feature it related to;
  • a member-facing summary;
  • the status of the action;
  • information required to support an available Undo action; and
  • relevant dates and times.

Assistant Activity does not contain hidden AI reasoning, system prompts or internal AI instructions.

Assistant Activity is kept until you delete the relevant activity where that option is available, or until you delete your Racer IQ account, subject to any existing lawful operational or audit retention described elsewhere in this Privacy Policy.

AI requests are routed through Lovable's AI service to third-party AI model providers.

AI processing is not guaranteed to occur in Australia and may occur overseas.

Under the current Racer IQ service configuration, Lovable may retain AI prompt and response content for up to 90 days.

Underlying service providers may also process or retain information in accordance with the applicable service configuration and provider terms.

Racer IQ separately records AI usage information such as request and usage metadata. This usage log does not contain the text of your question or the AI response.

Racer IQ has disabled Lovable's available AI model-training option and extended-retention models for its current service configuration.

AI functionality is intended to assist racers.

AI-generated information may be incomplete, inaccurate or incorrect and should not replace professional motorsport, mechanical, engineering, safety or regulatory advice.

9. YOUTUBE

Racer IQ may allow you to associate a YouTube-hosted onboard video with a race session or Race Replay.

Racer IQ stores information such as the YouTube link or video ID and synchronization information.

The video itself remains hosted and delivered by YouTube.

YouTube may use cookies or similar technologies when its player is loaded.

Your use of YouTube is also subject to YouTube's own terms and privacy practices.

Making a video publicly available on YouTube does not by itself make its association public in Racer IQ.

Racer IQ's own public-sharing control applies.

10. MARKETPLACE

Marketplace listings may display information you choose to publish, such as:

  • vehicle information;
  • photos;
  • approximate location; and
  • selected contact information.

Messages between Marketplace users are not public.

Racer IQ provides a platform for buyers and sellers to connect.

Racer IQ does not inspect, certify or guarantee Marketplace vehicles or listings and is not the seller merely because a listing appears on the platform.

When an account is deleted, active listings are removed from public view and seller contact information is removed.

Sold listings stop being publicly accessible 90 days after closing.

Applicable consumer rights may still apply to transactions depending on the circumstances and the parties involved.

11. PERSONAL TRACKS AND TRACK REQUESTS

Personal Tracks belong to the account that creates them and are private.

Track Requests are different.

They help Racer IQ identify circuits and layouts users would like added to the shared track library.

If an account is deleted, a Track Request may remain without being linked to the former member.

Votes may also remain as anonymous aggregate counts.

12. SUPPORT AND MODERATION

Messages submitted through Contact & Support are stored within Racer IQ and may be accessed by authorised administrators.

Racer IQ allows signed-in users to report certain public content.

Reports and the identity of reporters are not publicly available or disclosed to the reported user through the normal reporting system.

Authorised administrators may investigate reports, hide or unpublish content, suspend accounts, restore content and record moderation actions.

13. STORAGE, PROCESSING AND SERVICE PROVIDERS

Racer IQ's core database, authentication and file storage are hosted using AWS infrastructure in Sydney, Australia (ap-southeast-2).

Racer IQ's frontend is delivered using Lovable's hosting infrastructure and a global content delivery network.

Static website content may therefore be delivered through infrastructure located outside Australia depending on the location of the person accessing Racer IQ.

Racer IQ uses Lovable's AI service for AI-assisted features.

AI requests may be routed to third-party AI model providers.

The countries or regions in which those AI requests are processed are not currently guaranteed to be limited to Australia.

Where an AI feature is used, information necessary to provide that feature may therefore be processed outside Australia.

Racer IQ seeks to limit information sent to AI services to information relevant to the requested feature rather than sending an entire Racer IQ account or database.

Payments are processed by Stripe through payment services provided to Racer IQ by Lovable. To process payments, renewals, refunds and disputes and to prevent fraud, Stripe receives your payment details and information such as your email address and the plan you choose. Stripe may process this information outside Australia and handles it in accordance with its own privacy policy.

Service providers and processing arrangements may change as Racer IQ develops.

Racer IQ will update this Privacy Policy where material changes affect how personal information is handled.

14. COOKIES AND BROWSER TECHNOLOGIES

Racer IQ uses browser technologies required for functionality such as authentication and preferences.

Third-party embedded services may use their own technologies.

In particular, the YouTube player may use YouTube cookies or similar technologies.

Racer IQ does not currently use a separate analytics or advertising service.

15. HOW LONG WE KEEP INFORMATION

Retention depends on the type and purpose of the information.

Current intended retention periods include:

RACER IQ AI USAGE METADATA

Generally up to 12 months.

AI SERVICE PROMPT/RESPONSE PROCESSING RECORDS

Lovable may retain AI prompt/response content for up to 90 days under Racer IQ's current service configuration.

Other service-provider processing is subject to the applicable provider and service configuration.

SUPPORT MESSAGES

Generally up to 2 years after resolution or last activity.

MARKETPLACE MESSAGES

Generally up to 2 years after the listing closes.

CLOSED MARKETPLACE RECORDS

Generally up to 2 years.

PUBLIC SOLD MARKETPLACE LISTINGS

Up to 90 days after closing.

RESOLVED TRACK REQUEST REQUESTER INFORMATION

Generally up to 2 years where it remains necessary.

SPONSOR CLAIMS AND MANAGEMENT RECORDS

Sponsor claim information and related administrative records may be retained while needed to administer the Sponsor profile, establish or review management authority, resolve disputes, prevent impersonation or misuse, meet legal or operational requirements, or maintain an appropriate history of significant changes to a claimed Sponsor profile.

If an account is deleted, personal claim information may be deleted or detached from the account where appropriate. Shared Sponsor profiles and sponsorship relationships belonging to other users, teams or Race Series may remain where they continue to form part of Racer IQ's shared motorsport records.

Some retention periods are currently managed through administrative review rather than automatic deletion.

ASSISTANT ACTIVITY

Kept until you delete the relevant activity where that option is available, or until you delete your Racer IQ account.

PAYMENT AND FINANCIAL RECORDS

Records relating to payments, subscriptions, refunds and disputes may be retained for the period required by applicable taxation, accounting, corporations and other record-keeping laws.

These records may also be retained for longer where reasonably necessary to manage a dispute, chargeback, fraud investigation, audit or legal claim, or where otherwise required by law.

This may apply even after you delete your Racer IQ account. Stripe also retains transaction records in accordance with its own legal obligations and privacy practices.

Active account information is generally retained while required to provide Racer IQ or until you delete the relevant information or your account, subject to legitimate shared records and necessary operational or legal retention.

16. DOWNLOADING AND CORRECTING YOUR INFORMATION

Racer IQ provides account controls that allow you to edit various information and download a copy of key Racer IQ account and racing data.

The current Download My Data export includes structured account and racing information but does not include the actual uploaded photo files.

You can also use account settings to request a verified change of email address and change your password.

Where appropriate, member-associated Assistant Activity is included in Download My Data. Racer IQ does not store Assistant chat transcripts in its database, so they are not included in Download My Data.

If you have submitted a Sponsor claim or manage a Sponsor profile, information associated with those activities may form part of the personal information Racer IQ holds about you. Some information may be available through Racer IQ's account and data-access tools, while you may contact us if you require access to other personal information associated with a Sponsor claim or its administration.

If information cannot be corrected through your account, contact:

privacy@raceriq.com.au

17. DELETING YOUR ACCOUNT

You can request permanent account deletion through:

Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete my account

Deletion requires identity confirmation and deliberate confirmation.

Deletion removes the active Racer IQ account and associated private information, including private Garage and Race Log information, private files and photos, Personal Tracks and other account-specific data.

Certain information may remain where necessary to preserve legitimate shared motorsport history, Marketplace communications, Track Requests, support records or other operational records.

Where appropriate, remaining information is detached from the deleted account or displayed as belonging to a former or unclaimed participant rather than an active Racer IQ member.

When you delete your account, your Assistant Activity is deleted. Locally stored Assistant chat is separated by account and is cleared on sign-out.

If you have an active paid plan, Racer IQ warns you before deletion and cancels the paid subscription as part of deletion so that you are not charged again.

Deleting your account does not delete payment and financial records that must or may be kept as described in "How Long We Keep Information". Where kept, those records are used only for legal, accounting, taxation, dispute, fraud-prevention and payment-administration purposes.

If you are the sole owner of shared Race Series, Teams or Events that other people depend on, Racer IQ may require you to transfer ownership before deleting your account.

18. SECURITY

Racer IQ uses technical and access controls designed to prevent unauthorised access to private information.

No online system can guarantee absolute security.

If you believe your account or personal information has been compromised, contact:

support@raceriq.com.au

19. CHILDREN AND JUNIOR COMPETITORS

Independent Racer IQ accounts currently require users to confirm they are 16 years of age or older.

Competitors under 16 may still appear in legitimate motorsport timing, results or Race Replay records without holding a Racer IQ account.

Racer IQ does not currently offer parent or guardian-managed junior accounts.

20. PRIVACY QUESTIONS AND COMPLAINTS

If you have a question, concern or complaint about how Racer IQ handles personal information, contact:

privacy@raceriq.com.au

Please provide enough information for us to understand and investigate the issue.

Racer IQ will review privacy enquiries and complaints and respond within a reasonable period.

Where applicable, if you are not satisfied with the outcome, you may have the right to raise the matter with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

21. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

Racer IQ may update this Privacy Policy as the service changes or legal requirements develop.

Material changes will be communicated appropriately.

Where version acknowledgement is required, Racer IQ may record the version and date associated with that acknowledgement.
