Uploading telemetry (RaceChrono, RaceBox and more)
Upload a CSV, VBO or GPX file from your data logger and Racer IQ finds your laps, lap times, GPS and speed.
Supported files
- RaceChrono — CSV, VBO or GPX export.
- RaceBox — CSV, VBO or GPX export.
- VBOX — VBO files.
- Other GPS loggers and generic CSV — when the file has latitude/longitude or lap columns.
- Garmin Catalyst — not a supported upload format. You can enter the session details and lap times by hand and add a YouTube onboard video; this gives no GPS track, so it can't add GPS to a Race Replay.
RaceChrono
- In RaceChrono, open the session and export it as CSV (VBO also works).
- Save or send the file to the device you use Racer IQ on.
- In Race Log, choose Import racing data and pick the file.
RaceBox
- In the RaceBox app, open the session and export as CSV, VBO or GPX.
- In Race Log, choose Import racing data and pick the file.
After you pick the file
- Racer IQ shows the Detected source, laps detected, best lap and the data available in the file.
- Check or choose the car, track and layout.
- Tap Add session and lap times.
Tip Large files (up to 60 MB) are fine — they're processed in the background so your phone doesn't freeze. Extra channels like RPM or temperatures only appear if they're in your file.
Good to know The original file stays on the device you imported it on. Keep using that device if you want to add the session's GPS to a Race Replay later.
