Understanding the "Where the Time Goes" Panel

The Racer Pro session panel that shows which parts of the track cost you time between laps.

Where to find it

  1. Upload a GPS telemetry file for a session (see Uploading telemetry).
  2. Open the session in Race Log.
  3. Racer Pro members see Where the time goes under the telemetry views.

What it shows

  • Your fastest lap compared with your second-fastest, a typical lap, and your previous session at the track when available.
  • Time gained or lost in each Racer IQ track section, measured between the same track positions.
  • A best-sections-combined time — what your best sections add up to.
  • Repeatable losses (on most laps) separated from one-off mistakes.

How to use it

Start with the section that loses time on most laps. Compare what was different on your quicker laps there, try one change next session and check that section time again. Measured speeds are reference values from your own laps, not necessarily optimal targets.

Good to know Sections are generated by Racer IQ, not official timing sectors. The panel needs a clean GPS file; if the GPS is poor or too infrequent it shows less detail or none rather than guessing.

Tip Racer Free and Racer Plus members still get speed traces, the driven line and lap-time coaching. The panel and section analysis are part of Racer Pro.
